If You Don't Like Guns...

...don't get one. [More]
I like this guy.

House Gag Rules

Likewise, it has been held that a member could not:

* call the President a “liar.”
* call the President a “hypocrite.”
* describe the President’s veto of a bill as “cowardly.”
* charge that the President has been “intellectually dishonest.”
* refer to the President as “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.”
* refer to alleged “sexual misconduct on the President’s part.” [More]
I have no evidence besides uncorroborated allegations on that last one, but it looks like the rest of this list prohibits We the People's representatives from speaking the truth.

Not that there's generally much danger of that anyway.

Still, it's always interesting watching how unrestrained Marxists operate.

Penetrating Observations

We've talked about it before, most recently here.

Yale Cold Case

"...her killer is still on the loose..." [More]
So they can't protect you and they can't even catch predators after the fact.

But dare suggest maybe we should have the right to protect ourselves, and watch the antis go into a blinding rage.

Don't Think of It as "Paramilitary"...

...think of it as "recreation." [More]
I have mixed feelings about this one. Overbearing noise can be a form of intrusion. As can objections to any noise. I guess I need to learn more about the actual circumstances before concluding the neighbors are just a bunch of whiny antis...

One thing I don't have mixed feelings on is the right of all of us to engage in paramilitary training--and not have to disguise it as recreation. If we have the appropriate facilities for it and are not infringing on the rights of surrounding property owners, the hell with anybody who disapproves.

We're the Only Ones Diverted Enough

Carr acknowledged being detained by federal and local authorities at Newark Liberty International Airport after they found a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun stowed in luggage...

Carr...was admitted to a diversion program. He agreed to perform 20 hours of community service...

The gun charge, which had been held in abeyance, was dismissed... [More]

And here's the kicker:

"I have not been convicted of any crime, so there was no reason to notify anybody of it," Carr said. "I was never before the judge. There was no plea entered. There was no conviction. I never had a sentencing."

Right. You and I get busted with an unlicensed gun at a Jersey airport and I'm sure they'd do as much for us. No "Only One" double-standard here.

And heres' something else you'd think somebody would have picked up on:

The Smith & Wesson found in the luggage, he said, belongs to his wife.

"I wasn't about to let her take the fall for it," he said.

Did this "law director" just admit he lied to a law enforcement investigation? Don't most people do time in the slammer for that?

Oh, and look what group his boss belongs to--our old pals Mayors Against (Your) Guns:

Think he'd be concerned if this happened to one of his constituents as opposed to one of his henchmen? If "authorities" threw the book at a hapless citizen, do you think he'd agree they were "overzealous"?

I guess these arrogant hypocrites think they'll be able to get away with the double standards forever. I wonder if they'll be astonished on the day they find they can't?

Appeasement is in the Eye of the Beholder

On the gun issue, isn't it time for Obama and the Democrats to replace appeasement with resistance? [More]
That's funny--I was going to ask that very question of some of our side's "leaders."

We're the Only Ones "Let's Get Together, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" Enough

Johns Hopkins Advises Surrender, Not Swords

Again, per JHU, aside from taking a course in self defense (Annie Le reportedly weighed 90 lbs.) and carrying a whistle, here's one thing we must never do:

"Resist a rapist or robber at the cost of endangering your own life."

They're serious. They think we should let animals violate human beings in the most violent and degrading way possible, and we should submit like sheep--and trust that placing ourselves under the complete physical domination of a twisted and depraved monster is the best way to minimize risk.

There is nothing these people will literally fight for. Not even themselves. Certainly not Liberty. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at a college student who refused to be a victim.

It's also an in-your-face to the loons who came out in droves the last time I suggested self defense as a legitimate human option.

This Day in History: September 16

September 16, 1777 at Warren, Pennsylvania - In the days following his defeat at the Battle of Brandywine, Gen. George Washington was intent on accomplishing two contradictory tasks: protecting Philadelphia from British forces under Gen. Sir William Howe and replenishing rapidly dwindling supplies and munitions from stockpiles in Reading, Pennsylvania. [More]
