GRE Round Up for Apr. 16

There's some good stuff being turned out. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.

A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."

These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.

Here are their latest offerings:

Dan Bidstrup/Denver:
Attending the Denver Tea Party

Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:
Is Congress trying to put the President and other dignitaries at risk?

Go. Read. And please share these links.

You're doing that, right?

In Your Face Back At'cha

I was testing a suspicion that Google hits for "teabagger" outnumber "tea partier" (my hunch was right, which says something about how the left has been able to spread a disparaging meme) and I stumbled across this page . Click on graphics to enlarge.

"Republican gene pool" dissed in the scrolling marquee:

Sarah Palin with a gun to her head and the caption "Do It!"

Brought to you by Pic-N-Save. (Not to be confused with Pick 'N Save).

They can't say they don't know.

Ask them why they haven't done anything about it. Don't they want our business?

"Yippie-Ki-Yay, M...........!"

'Open Carry' Gun Laws Turn the Country Back into the Wild West [More]
Mooed like someone intimately familiar with cow towns, albeit from the wrong end of the branding iron...

Thank You, Sir, May I Have Another?

"You would think they'd be saying thank you," he said. [More]
Keep gripping those ankles!

You Betcha!

Sorry, Sarah.

Still backing McCain and now My Man Mitthead...?

Nope. Not with my help, anyway.

An Embarrassment to the First Amendment

Daryl Lease of The Virginian-Pilot, that is:
I'm not at all comfortable, however, with the thought of any state in our nation arming a bumbling, malicious crew of twisted Fifes and setting them up to stage "citizen's arrests" against federal employees.
Actually, you obnoxious @$$h01e, Fife was an "Only One." And if you're uncomfortable, I suggest you adjust your Rapex.

Amnesty Bill for Firearms Collectors H.R. 442

Gary Marbut of Montana Sport Shooting Association is looking for help to get a hearing for a bill that NRA is pushing that is sponsored by Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-MT).
Denny has sponsored H.R. 442 to allow an amnesty period for registration of prohibited firearms that U.S. veterans have brought home from overseas. Although there are over 100 cosponsors to this bill, it has not yet been granted a committee hearing.
I'm sorry, guys. I support a lot of stuff you do. But I gotta say, I'm unequivocally opposed to registering weapons.

And yeah, I know what that means I'm advocating instead. That, along with NRA facilitating registration, is nothing new.

Looks like we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

We're the Only Ones Giving You a Choice Enough

“(Henry County Sheriff Lane) Perry wasn’t swayed by that line of thinking.

“‘If a person thinks they need protection when they go in a bar, they’ve got a choice not to go there,’ he said.” [More]
Don't they also have a choice about tossing out uppity servants who forget their place?

This is the second arrogant "Only One" higher-up who presumes to limit your defense choices I've read about in the past 24 hours. Atlanta Gun Rights Examiner Ed Stone told us yesterday about Emory University Chief Craig Watson who...well here, I'll let Ed tell it:
After setting the scene, Representative Setzler asked the Chief whether he would prefer to see one of the fifteen or so people in the room with a gun put a stop to the killing.

Chief Watson's response? He informed the committee that it was his feeling that more people would die if fifteen of the potential murder victims had guns than if the people were helpless, disarmed, and just waited for the police to respond and save them.

Craig and Lane have their guns because they're more trustworthy and have better judgment than the rest of us, you see. Just ask them.

A Policy Revision

The new policy is expected to mirror restrictions already in place at some military installations that, for example, require guns brought to a base to be registered with military police. [More]
That'll show those bad guys!

We're the Only Ones Taken for a Ride Enough

A District of Columbia police officer whose service weapon was stolen during what he said was a carjacking on his way home from work later admitted to detectives that he gave one of the suspects a ride for money, according to court records. [More]
So it's already been established he's a damned liar. Yeah, I believe he did it "for money."

Why else would he be picking up a street skank? I mean, who doesn't let them in their car and then ask them to pay?

Hey, don't regular people go to jail for lying to the "Only Ones"?

Let's hear it for how "home rule" keeps those guns "off the street"!

Why Not Try a 'Pro-Gun' Self-Defense TV Show?

That the program sending forth young Padawans...I mean, journalists, won't even pretend to balance is a given... [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at a way to give that balance.
