Giving the Finger

I saw a comment on my latest TTAG piece that made me recall a story I haven't thought about in decades:
[M]y 6th grade teacher was sometimes called “4 and a quarter finger man” from a old shop incident.
A college buddy told us about his shop teacher who was cautioning them on how he lost his finger in a negligent table saw incident, and in his demo proceeded to cut off another finger.

Killer Asteroid

And we're all equally threatened. [More]

Not being from Nevada is hardly the issue -- neither is Nemesis Bloomberg, and if he succeeds, when he's done there, he'll be moving on. Would you rather fight a war "over there" or let the enemy advance to where you live?

And yeah, I get "I Will Not Comply" -- Things don't have to get to that point any more than they need to advance geographically, but they will unless gun owners help supply the front line fighters.

Put another way, if an asteroid is approaching, isn't it better to deflect it when a simple nudge will be enough, or is it better to wait until it enters the atmosphere

We're the Only Ones Purposeful Enough

UC officer 'purposefully killed' DuBose [More]
And just in time for summer riots to break out and spread!

Curious, how so many who are outraged support monopoly of violence politicians...

You Can't Stop the Signal

Which doesn't mean Prozi swine won't try:
Our circulators were illegally harassed by employees of the Oregon Democracy Fund at the Lane County Fair, stopping them from gathering signatures on our recall petition. That clearly violates established Oregon law and we want the Secretary of State to investigate and fine them for each person they stopped from signing our petition.
If you think about it, in principle, that's really no different than this.

Love for Sale

We’re grateful that leaders like Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are standing with women that are exploited rather than pimps and Johns. [More]
Hey, what happened to "a woman's right to choose"? Oh, wait, I see: the female provider of "services" should not be liable, but the male purchaser should be, along with the male business manager?

What if the purchaser and business manager are a Jill and a Pimpette -- don't they also have a right to choose?

And how do they factor -- what do they call it now, "cisgender"? [or whatever] * -- into the equation? Would Bruce be guilty but Caitlyn innocent?

Gosh, this being a privileged "progressive" with consistent positions is more difficult than I thought.

Speaking of Meryl, where's that movie she and Harvey were gonna make?  Did approached investors ask him if he was f-ing crazy?

And speaking of Harvey, does Meryl think he should be prosecuted, and not just for groping Ambra?  It's not like what's going on with Georgina letting him slobber all over her looks like priceless love...

* Beats me what it means. I read the definition and still don't get why the term is needed. It sounds like it's because people are afraid to say "normal."

The Power of "No"

Put simply, liberal elitists don’t like the fact that, at the end of the day, an armed citizenry can tell them, “No.” [More]
Bravo. Good piece. Nice to see the concept getting wider play.

Those on "our side" trying to appear "reasonable" for the media, and calling "I Will Not Comply" activists "extremists," need to understand that at the end of the day, when their lobbying and lawsuits have failed to provide redress, the new paradigm is kicking in.

Except, as observed before, civil disobedience is not really new. It's just that gun owners have long been conditioned to limiting themselves to signing on to form emails, voting for compromised candidates and opening their wallets. That's changing.

To those unsure of if massive noncompliance can result in real, fundamental, 180° political change, I have one word: Prohibition.

Administrative Relief for All!

With "relief" being what we used to call "welfare"... [More]

Time was, invaders staying were called an occupying army. Typical, though, reframing it as "administrative relief."

Thank goodness this will have nothing to do with that "single issue." Ever. Right?
