Don't sitting presidents have immunity from prosecution for offenses predating their ascension to the WH?

Assume that Assange DID drop a blockbuster on the 8th and Hildabeast WERE to be indicted prior to that Friday i January. There is usually a huge long span of time between an indictment and the trial. Given that indictment is far from the same as being convicted, would it affect her election in any way? If it were a state offense rather than a federal, POTUS couldn't pardon her for that, could he? And if they did hold off on trying her, what would there be to keep her from hopping on a plane for some country that does not have an extradition treaty with the U.S.? With their dough the Clintons could live nicely in a place like that.

Otto, I believe that all court actions against the Commander in Chief are suspended for the duration of his/her term of service, then resume when they leave office. There's always the ability to impeach during the term, of course.
