Inventing 'Gun Violence'

Tennessee teen tries to steal handgun from gun show, promptly stopped by good Samaritans [More]
OK, so attendees took it away from him and held him for police. As good customers might have done had they witnessed him stealing something else.

So leave it to those with an agenda to include the incident in their "gun violence" archive.

Padding statistics... where have I heard that before?

Funny -- their "About" page really doesn't tell us much about the people behind this. Neither does a "Who Is" look-up.

It's almost like they want people to think they're grassroots instead of AstroTurf laid down by hidden hands or something...

That's despite assurances that "GVA in an independent data collection and research group with no affiliation with any advocacy organization."  That must be why the "In the News" sources and "Related Websites" listings on their home page are so empirical and objective, with such impartial arbiters as Media Matters, Everytown and the Bradys, right?

The thug isn't a "Tennessee teen" either, his is Shenoda Riad, which means he's from somewhere else.

Do any of the anti groups share that address in D.C.?

It looks like it's a UPS store mailbox. They don't even have a real address. Shocking.
