What's in YOUR Holster?

I typically stay away from "hardware" posts for a number of reasons, not the least being that's not what I choose to focus on, and another being "A man's gotta know his limitations." That said, The Survivalist Blog gives its rationale for whose guns to carry, and significantly for my niche interests, whose guns not to. [More]

Less a rationale, and more of a lecture. The 9mm has become oh so trendy lately.

Glocks are great. One of the best ever devised. I don't own one. I hate them. I recommend them, but for me? I just don't like them.

I carry a CZ-75 some of the time. A 1911 some of the time. A Beretta 96 is my open carry gun. Most of the time however, an old 4" S&W model 66 is to be found on me.

I'm a civilian. Not a cop. Not an operator.

I urge all to carry what's optimal for them. What they WILL carry, and CAN hit with.

Those two criteria seem to get forgotten.
